“The quality of genomic sequences from RITM is at par with the sequencing done at Sanger,” says Silvia Argimon, the Lead Genomic Epidemiologist of the Centre for Genomic Pathogen Surveillance at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute on the laboratory capacity of RITM.

The RITM-ARSP’s “See and Sequence’: Genomic Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistant and High-risk pathogenic clones within the Philippines” project under the Newton Agham Programme of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and the Medical Research Council (MRC) of the United Kingdom conducted an Advisory Board Meeting on May 29, 2018 at Crimson Hotel.

Collaborators from Sanger Institute, United Kingdom, World Health Organization Collaborating Center for AMR in Boston, United States of America, ¬and technical consultant from Department of Otolaryngology, University of Colorado School of Medicine, attended the meeting.

The progress in the project and the accomplishments within the two-year implementation, as well as current analysis and interpretations of the findings and future applications of project outputs were discussed during the meeting.
